Croft continued their unbeaten run with a professional display in practically a mud bath in Chippenham, despite missing two key players. Sayam Thapa and captain Ben Rowlands were taken ill in the night, leaving Tom Holland to lead the team away from home. The lads started brightly, with Bikash Limbu hitting the post within a minute and Callum Hooper was unable to convert the rebound. The first goal did eventually come when Hooper latched onto Limbu’s pass for his 3rd goal in as many games. Callum then made it 2, after some great work down the right from Jack Cremin, he finished at the far post. Bikash then added his own usual goal, storming through unchallenged before slotting past the keeper. It was 4 on the stroke of half time when Limbu rose to meet Luca Colucci’s corner with a powerful header.

The team kept it tight in the second half as the wind picked up, and Stan Banks, desperate to score following his 6 month injury layoff, nearly made it a perfect game for the blues. Eventually the 5th goal did come, Zac Brain skipped past several challenges before unselfishly laying the ball on a plate for Finn Tremblen, who scored his first of the season after missing 3 months himself through injury. Another strong performance and result, and the boys continue to look to add pressure on the teams above them. Lots of games to go yet!
