Croft Blue 2-0 Purton

Croft bounced back into form and gave their title rivals a reminder that they are still around, with a professional display against Purton. At times the boys barely got out of second gear, but upped their game when necessary, and deservedly took the lead early on, when Harry Woods’ free kick squirmed through the goalkeeper. Callum Hooper was unlucky to hit a bobble on the home pitch just as he was going to make it 2, but the second goal eventually came after half time, top scorer Luca Colucci racing onto Jack Cremin’s pass to slot in on his left foot. Centre half Tom Holland hit the post late on after a pass from holding midfielder Zac Brain, who arguably had his best game in a Croft shirt. Tougher tests to come, but the boys have ended their run of draws and you could feel at full time, this may be a big win in the Blue’s season.
