Croft took another step forward this season with a fantastic win, coming from behind against a previously unbeaten Lydiard Millicent side. The boys were made to work in the first half and in what was a tense opening, could probably feel slightly hard done by to go in 1-0 at the break. Bikash Limbu uncharacteristically lost the ball in his own half, and, even with a hint of offside in the build up, the Lydiard Millicent forward buried it past Tyler Affleck. The boys improved second half, with their opponents sitting on their lead and playing with only one player in the Blues’ half, Joe switched to a 2-4-2 system, which allowed both Callum Hooper and Stan Banks to play up top. Eventually the pressure told, with Bikash running 50 yards before slotting the ball under the keeper. The boys then scored their second only 2 minutes later, Banks taking advantage of the goalkeepers’ mistake to score with his head. He made the result safe soon after with a stunning strike from 20 yards that bounced in off of the bar. A solid, classy performance full of character from the boys to keep the season going…
