A third draw in a row for Croft Blue, and they can blame the referee, but then themselves for not taking all 3 points home. In a bright start for both sides, Croft took the lead when they caught Purton on the counter attack. Jack Cremin floated a pass into Callum Hooper, who moments before had hit the post, but this time took a good first touch to control, before beating the goalie with the outside of his foot. The home side soon hit back with a ball in from the left and their number 9 put it away first time. Moving into the second half, and the boys stormed back in front, once again Hooper was involved, laying on a perfect pass for Luca Colucci and the top scorer smashed it in on his weaker left side. Once again the home side hit back though, with a goal from their attacking midfield player who superbly lifted the ball over a helpless Tyler Affleck.
It looked as if the boys would have the last laugh though, as they broke from a Purton corner, Harry Woods putting Luca Colucci through, and once again he took his goal extremely well for 3-2 with 4 minutes to go. Unfortunately though, as the boys saw out a ball for an almost certain goal kick in added time, the referee gave a corner and one last chance for the home team. The boys then didnt switch on to a short corner routine, and after a scramble that saw one superb save from Affleck, Purton hammered the ball over the line for 3-3. The boys can feel hard done by but need to now learn how to see out games like this away from home.
